About
Ryan Boyd is a doctoral candidate in English at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he is writing a dissertation titled "Medium Nature: American Poetry in the Suburban Age." He received his M.A. in English from UCSB (2007), and his B.A. in English from William & Mary (2004). While Ryan's specialty is modern and contemporary poetry, he has taught a variety of courses on nineteenth- and twentieth-century American and British literature for the English Department, as well as writing seminars in the UCSB Writing Program. Besides his current work on suburban literature, he is planning a book on narcotics and the American novel.
