About
I earned my B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and am currently a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at UCSB. My research interests span the dark side of CMC; aggression, privacy, and reputation in the digital age. My M.A. thesis dealt with the differences between traditional bullying and cyberbullying, and am currently working on two large scale projects, one focuses on credibility and digital information, the other focuses on privacy and social networking sites. My dissertation explores and attempts to predict online privacy expectations, with an applied aspect that has important implications for the Fourth Amendment protection of privacy.
