Jaimie Baron is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her Ph.D.in Cinema and Media Studies at UCLA after finishing a dissertation entitled "The Archive Effect: Appropriation Films and the Experience of History." Her research interests include archival theory, documentary film, experimental film, film and media theory, new media, gender studies, crime cinema, and transnational cinema. She is also an Associate Programmer at Los Angeles Filmforum and one of the curators of the Festival of (In)appropriation, an annual international festival of short experimental found-footage films.
